Next weekend the German Athletics Championships will take place in Braunschweig. Sandmaster brand ambassador Malaika Mihambo (www.malaika-mihambo.com) will make her debut this year in her supreme discipline, the long jump.

Since Malaika wants to concentrate fully on the long jump, she will not participate in the 100 meter fights this time.

Sandmaster wishes Malaika a nice follow-up with a 4th title at this year’s championships, which due to the corona situation will take place without spectators. Fly, angel!

Our brand ambassador Malaika Mihambo invited to the media day in the rooms of Sandmaster GmbH in Wendlingen. The exceptional sportswoman gave interviews to invited and well-known journalists. The SWR was also present with a film team and broadcast the interview last night.

Our brand ambassador, Malaika Mihambo, will in future train with nine-time Olympic champion Carl Lewis. This becomes known from a report of the DLV and own press release. Carl Lewis is also known as the athlete of the century, has set several world records and dominated the world elite in sprint and long jump from 1983 to 1996.

Now he wants to lead Malaika Mihambo, who will train in the USA in the future but will spend her rest periods in Germany, to great mental strength and sporting success. If everything goes well, training will start in August this year. You can also read details here:

Malaika Mihambo, the Sandmaster brand ambassador and winner of the gold medal in the long jump, has been making children mobile since the schools, sports grounds and playgrounds were closed and offers a small sports program for at home on her YouTube live channel every day together with the “Starkmacher” club. The offer is primarily aimed at primary school children, but of course anyone who feels like it can take part.

On YouTube, she currently presents small challenges and tasks for the children every day at 10:00 am under a regularly changing motto. “Especially in these times movement is so important for the children, the children need distraction, structure and in the best case they learn something”, says the 26-year-old athlete.

We can only recommend this program for children and are thrilled with how much joy and commitment Malaika creates the program, live from home from your living room.

Malaika Mihambo is a great hope for the Olympics. Due to the crisis it was postponed to next year and therefore she still has a hard training year ahead of her. When Malaika will be able to start training again is not yet clear, but it could be soon.
