Sand, one of the most frequently used natural resources in the world, has been facing a major crisis for some years now: the shortage of sand caused by the increasing construction boom worldwide. Sandmaster GmbH, the leading supplier of sand cleaning technologies and a pioneer in mechanical sand cleaning, has been tackling this challenge since 1994 with innovative solutions that significantly reduce the need for new sand for playgrounds, long jump pits and beach volleyball courts.

The excessive extraction of sand from natural sources such as rivers, beaches and oceans has serious ecological and economic consequences. This overexploitation leads to erosion, loss of biotopes and disruption of natural balances. Sandmaster GmbH responded to this almost 40 years ago with the development and patenting of the first self-propelled sand cleaning machine, which enables the reuse and processing of existing sand.

The TÜV-certified “Sandmaster process” efficiently removes organic and inorganic elements from contaminated sand, enabling it to be reused on the many play and sports surfaces. Aeration at depths of up to 40 cm restores the microbial balance and at the same time sifts out foreign bodies. This has been proven by numerous independent scientific studies.

The ecological benefits of this method are considerable. In addition to reducing the need for newly mined sand, sand cleaning helps to protect natural landscapes and ecosystems. Economically, sand cleaning by Sandmaster offers an efficient solution for local authorities, sports clubs and other institutions, as the cost of purchasing and transporting new sand is considerably higher. The considerable CO2 emissions caused by lorry transport of new sand should not be underestimated.

Sandmaster GmbH has established itself as an industry leader through its innovations and commitment to sustainability. With numerous successful projects and partnerships in various sectors, the company demonstrates the practical applicability and effectiveness of its sand cleaning technology and, for some years now, also with the professional cleaning of synthetic and artificial turf systems.

The shortage of sand is a global problem that requires global solutions. Sandmaster GmbH is actively committed to the deep cleaning of sand surfaces. Looking to the future, the company is now developing innovative solutions for the filtration of wash water when cleaning running tracks and artificial turf systems. Already in Sandmaster already offers its services in 15 European countries.
